In addition to any required certifications, there will be a full criminal background check performed by the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s department in order for employees to obtain a valid work permit required for employment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prospective applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Dealers should have previous casino experience or have completed adequate training from a casino dealer training school.
  • All positions require a work permit issued by the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department. The permit fee is currently $167, which covers the cost of fingerprinting, background check, and the County Permit. Photographs are an additional cost. This process usually takes about a week for food and beverage positions and two to three weeks for all gaming positions, but may be longer. County Permits must be renewed annually, at a cost of $25 per year.
  • Convictions for felonies and certain misdemeanors are grounds for denial, revocation, or suspension of a cardroom work permit.
  • Prospective applicants must be available to work any shift, including weekends and holidays. Shifts may vary depending on our business needs. We are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

We collect information from job applicants from:   (1)your application; (2) your communications with us; (3) surveillance cameras and audio recordings near the cage; (4) credit and consumer reporting agencies for cage or key employee applicants; (5) State, County and federal agencies; (6) 0ther persons when you interact with them and they submit information about you to us; (7) public websites; and (8) job references, recruiters, and staffing agencies.  Using that information, we may also run a public records check and credit check using third party credit and reporting agencies or providers. The reports we receive may also contain personal information or sensitive personal information as defined in law, regulations or our privacy policy.

You have the right to: (1) know what personal information we have about you; (2) request a copy of the information we have in a manner that allows you to obtain your personal information in a readily-usable format that can be transferred to another service; (3) the right to know whether your personal information is being sold or shared with third parties, and to opt out of data collection including the sale or sharing of your personal information; (4) have personal information deleted, subject to the authorized exceptions in this privacy policy and law; (5) correct inaccurate personal information; (6) limit the information we have if we use sensitive personal information outside of the permitted reasons in Regulation 7027(m), which is summarized below in the subsection for Deletion Request Rights; or (7) withdraw from any promotions or incentives.
